DIY // Marble Serving Tray
Today I have a super fun, super easy, super luxe looking DIY for you - a marble serving tray. Like honestly, this couldn't be easier, and I almost feel guilty writing a whole DIY post about it, but here we are.
I've been wanting a cool marble serving tray for fun and for the #aesthetic (aka Instagram photos) for a while now, but even the cheapest option at Target was still like $40 and, well, it's tax season. #nuffsaid
But I was thinking about it the other day, because my go-to is to always DIY when I can't find what I want in my price range. And I figured that the hardware store would have tons of marble and faux-marble tiles that I could probably buy just one of for way cheaper. So I made a trip to Menard's, and lo and behold, they did not disappoint!
- Marble slab or tile
- Two handles
- Felt pads
- Super glue
Using a really strong super glue, attach the handles to the marble slab and let them sit for several hours before use, depending on the formula of the glue. Attach the felt pads to the bottom corners so it doesn't scratch up your table or counter.
That's really it, folks.
It was so simple and inexpensive, but it looks so nice and super fancy. The marble slab – which was really a ceramic tile – was less than $2 and I splurged on the fancier handles, but they were still $3.99 each.
While the super glue is very strong for day to day use, do be careful when using the tray - it's not meant for heavy duty carrying, and I'd hate to cause any coffee or food-spilling incidents.
